Avalon LA
Community Resource Center

At Avalon LA, we’re all about helping people get back on their feet. We work with folks in re-entry homes, shelters, and those who are unhoused to connect them with the health services and resources they need. Our great partnerships allow us to provide a wide range of support, making sure everyone feels empowered as they find their way back into society.
We totally get that reintegrating can be tough, and that’s why we’re here to make sure no one has to go through it alone. Our approach isn’t just about meeting immediate needs; we also focus on long-term support like mental health counseling, job training, and educational workshops. We’re all about creating a warm and welcoming space where individuals can thrive and regain their independence with dignity and confidence.
Our friendly team of professionals is ready to help every step of the way, ensuring that everyone has a shot at building a brighter future.
About Us
Our History
Founded in 2020, Avalon LA emerged in response to the urgent need for free COVID and STI testing in Los Angeles County. Recognizing the potential to do more, we partnered with organizations and businesses to broaden our resource offerings.
Our initiatives include organizing food distributions and hosting wellness resource fairs to connect the community with essential services. Additionally, we offer mobile testing for shelters, encampments, re-entry homes, and schools.
Our rapid expansion led to the opening of our Resource Center in Hyde Park, Los Angeles, where we now provide a diverse range of resources and referrals to support the community.

Our nonprofit recently opened a Resource Center to address the significant gaps in reliable and accessible healthcare and community resources, which greatly affect overall well-being. At the center, we offer a range of daily self-improvement and court-ordered classes designed to empower individuals and enhance their quality of life. Our dedicated team provides guests with essential resources, including primary care services and assistance with healthcare enrollment, ensuring that everyone has access to the care they need.
In addition to healthcare services, we also focus on mental and behavioral health education, offering referrals to specialized resources. Our center supports the community with various services, such as housing referrals, DMV vouchers, home healthcare, and child support assistance. Through these comprehensive programs and resources, we aim to make a meaningful difference in the lives of our community members, helping them embrace the journey and master the pace.
